Just completed my 4th fashion / gothic shoot at Blue Carrot. This is a large studio “space” which makes it very flexible and easy to adapt to almost any type of shoot. One of the best features is that many parts have been left as they were from its previous use. The painted walls, exposed brickwork, and exposed roof are excellent for creating atmospheric shots, and the natural light in many areas is also very good.

Set up for fetish / alt usage and delivers - lots of space, well appointed and plenty of equipment. Mark was on hand to give a tour and then left us to it. Great to work in a studio limited only by your imagination 100% recommended

Our studio is as unusual as our name, in the sense that we don't have a infinity curve, living room set or even a bedroom set and what backdrops we have are also limited. So if you are wanting to hire a studio with the above sets we aren't the studio for you.

Okay your still here, good, now for more information on what we are all about and what you can expect at Blue Carrot.

What we are all about

Blue Carrot was formed in June 2009 and offers a studio that allows both photographers and models to utilise all of their skills and imagination as we don't have any fixed permanent sets. The main studio on the ground floor is a 1000 square foot warehouse with unpainted walls and floors, an old open plan wooden stair case leading up to the first floor, which is a 900 square foot wooden loft with two bay windows at one end and exposed roof beams and natural wooden floors and bare brick walls. The whole building has a distressed look to it which gives photographers a perfect blank canvas to use their imagination to create their own ideas.

We have a extensive range of props from 1950's furniture, a range of hospital furniture and equipment as well as a large selection of other fetish and alternative props plus our new exclusive 1970's laundrette set complete with authentic coin op washing machines and driers.

References from satisfied photographers and models are endless but what follows is a few snippets of what's been said about us.

"A space that really lets you give full rein to your imagination"

"So much space and so many props! Launderette set rocks!"

"it gets your imagination going and has some fantastic set pieces!

"The possibilities of ideas are endless.."

"great for your imagination to go wild with"

"The studio is terrific if you're after that alt/dark look.... Would highly recommend this place"

"The studio itself is brilliant"

"Given its just one studio, the variety for a vast potential of different sets is amazing"

The only real way to appreciate the studios uniqueness is by making an appointment to spend half an hour having a look around, and we are sure that once you have you will want to book a date to return for a shoot.

We have recently up dated our studio flash lighting and now have

2 x 600W Strobe light (with 150W modelling lamps)
3 x 250w Strobe light
2 x 70 x 100cm Soft box
1 x 70 x 50cm Soft box
1 x 60 x 60cm Soft Box
1 33" Black/Silver umbrella
1 33" White Umbrella
Barn Door With Honeycomb Grid & 4-Color Gel Set
Barn Door With Honeycomb Grid & Gel Set
1 snoot and honeycomb
3 x 16 Channel wireless Trigger (transmitter and receivers)

Please note that we are constantly looking for new ideas for both props and sets so keep checking our profile to see if we have added anything new.

Coming soon are two brand new sets both will be made up of authentic 1960's and 1970's furniture and equipment and as with our laundrette set will be unusual for a studio but will guarantee our uniqueness and originality.
